The 2017 National Whale & Dolphin Watch takes place between 29th July & 6th August. As always, we’re asking you to head to the coast to record what you see. Find out all about how to get involved here.
This year, we’re particularly excited to be able to offer some exclusive prizes to those who take part. Opticron, UK-based optics experts have kindly donated three pairs of T3 Trailfinder 8×42 binoculars as a prize for people who take part in a dedicated watch this National Whale & Dolphin Watch.
Additionally, the fabulous artist Dani Williams, has donated a set of humpback whale prints to the cause! This means that for every watch form you return this National Whale & Dolpin Watch you will receive one entry into our amazing prize draw and for your efforts you could be rewarded with these gorgeous prints or even a pair of binoculars!
If you didn’t already have reason enough to take part, now you definitely do!
Remember, you need to be an event organiser to be entered into the prize draw so check out our current list of events around the UK before telling us about your own. More watches, means more chance of winning one of these generous prizes. However, if a winner is drawn more than once, they will only win one prize so that we can share the joy around more of our fantastic volunteers!
We hope you have a fantastic National Whale & Dolphin Watch and that you have plenty of sightings – don’t forget that your watch data is still extremely valuable to us even if no sightings are made during the watch and that you’ll still have a valid competition entry if you send back your watch form. Good luck on all counts!
Huge thanks to Opticron and Dani Williams for their generosity and support. During the National Whale & Dolphin Watch, any cetacean-related products purchased from Dani Williams Art will generate a 20% donation to Sea Watch so make sure to buy between 29th July & 6th August!
