It is getting increasingly cold and windy outside but the weather is not keeping our eager Sea Watch volunteers inside!
Meet Rhian Bek, Student Warden at the Great Orme Country Park, Llandudno and find out why she is volunteering with the Welsh Sea Watchers Project.
I volunteer for the Sea Watch Foundation by helping to coordinate land-based watches from the Great Orme, Llandudno. I have just recently become involved but would love to become a regular observer since I live and work in the area. By arranging watches I aim to get to know like-minded people and spread the word about the importance of recording cetacean sightings.
Whilst studying for my degree in Ecology and Environmental Biology, I also enjoy sailing and surfing and so volunteering with the Sea Watch Foundation is a perfect way to combine my love for the ocean with my interest in research and conservation!
If you are interested in getting involved with the Welsh Sea Watchers Project, contact our Wales Development Officer Katrin on katrin.lohrengel@seawatchfoundation.org.uk for information.
