We’re really excited for the airing of ‘Britain’s Whales’ on ITV this Good Friday at 8 o’clock, followed by ‘Britain’s Sharks’ at 9pm.
It’s a project that we’ve advised on for the last 18 months and so we can’t wait to see the final production! Two of our staff, Katrin and Matt, were lucky enough to visit the Celtic Deep on filming trips with the team at Big Wave Productions in their roles as Wales Development Officer. Unfortunately, our Sightings Officer, Kathy, missed two trips out there in 2014 and 2015 due to bad weather at the time. Nonetheless, Kathy has been working with the team to provide insight and data for the programme makers to succeed in showcasing our nation’s amazing marine wildlife. “These shows would have been impossible to make without the help and expertise of Kathy and the rest of the Sea Watch team” says Mark Woodward from Big Wave Productions. Of course we’re not sure exactly what the show will contain, but we saw some exceptional things during filming and there have been a few hints dropped along the way, so we’re advising everybody to watch!
We’ve been promised some sneak preview clips which we’ll post as soon as we receive them. In the meantime, delve into the deep with Katrin in her blogs about her Celtic Deep experience with the show:
