This weekend, Sea Watch Foundation Regional co-ordinator for North East Scotland, Alan Airey, will be attending Big Watch@The Broch.
Alan will be on hand helping visitors to spot marine mammals and sharing his 15 years worth of Cetacean watching experience at the Burghead Visitor Centre from 12-4 pm Saturday and Sunday.
Alan’s most recent sighting was a pod of 9 or 10 sperm whales from the same location on Monday. Only the day before, he spotted a humpback whale and with the Moray Firth currently full of minke whales and the resident bottlenose dolphin population, it’s highly likely to be a good weekend of watching.
The event is free entry and includes talks and stalls from other organisations at this beautiful and historic location. Add in boat trips, food, craft beer and things for the kids to do. What more could you possibly want?
See poster below and the ‘Burghead Visitor Centre’ Facebook page for more details.
