Last year I visited New Quay on holiday. I had so much fun and begged my parents to take me back again this summer. All my work paid off and my parents took us back for three weeks. Last year I encountered a boat from the company Seamor. It was the best day of my life and I had so much fun. Luke, our instructor, showed us all different types of sea animals including crabs, lobsters, fish etc. He told us that we could hold all the animals we wanted to, so, obviously, I held all of them though I was the only one who did because everyone else was too scared. That trip really made me want to become a marine biologist and I’ve had the dream ever since.
I was scanning the web one day when I came across Sea Watch. They sounded like just the place to help me with my ‘career’, so my mum contacted them and told them that I was willing to help as much as I could.I arrived at New Quay on Saturday and have had so much fun since. Almost everyday I have helped by doing the land watch (sitting on the pier and looking for dolphins).
My brother and I have also helped in a beach clean up were we were told how the litter really affects the animals and hurts them. We picked up a whole bag of litter and where shocked about the kind of things we found. After that my brother (Christian) and I where taken to the rock pools with Lordes and John. We had so much fun looking at the different animals and just generally playing around. I have only been here a week and I have done so much and I can’t wait till what lies ahead.
This trip has been a great experience for me and I can’t imagine leaving. I have had so much fun and am sure this will really help in my ambition to become a marine biologist.
