Whale and Dolphin Watching off West Cork

Whale Watch West Cork offers exclusive whale watching holidays onboard the Voyager, a twin-engine catamaran based at Reen Pier, Castlehaven, West Cork. Whale Watch West Cork offers all-inclusive whale watching holidays and whale watching breaks for people wanting to view, photograph and learn more about whales and dolphins in the wild. We will organize everything from your pick up at the airport to your packed lunch and all boat trips to see the whales and dolphins.

Voyager is a well-equipped, built specifically for whale and dolphin watching off West Cork and is licensed to carry 12 passengers. She is fast and stable and has all round excellent visibility. With a toilet on board, facilities for making hot drinks and a spacious wheelhouse passenger comfort is assured.

Your skipper and whale-watching guide, Nic Slocum, has been sailing and diving West Cork waters for many years. An experienced boat handler, Nic's training as a Zoologist combined with his observations of the whales and dolphins of West Cork over the last few years, gives him a good knowledge of where and when to find them.

Commonly sighted animals are: Minke whales, Fin whales, Humpback whales, Common dolphins, Harbour porpoises, Common and Grey seals and a variety of other marine wildlife - Gannets, Shags, Cormorants, Kittiwakes, Skuas, Shearwaters, Peregrine Falcons and various species of petrel.

Typical sailing times are from 10am to 2pm or 3pm to 7pm. Other times may be booked by arrangement. Corporate bookings, group bookings and children are all welcome. Times may vary according to the prevailing weather conditions.
